Bodyshop Technician / Paint Sprayer
Due to expansion, we are recruiting a Bodyshop Technician / Paint Sprayer to join our team. Working in our coachbuilding / bodyshop department, you will join our growing team of highly skilled technicians based at our premises in Kingstone, Herefordshire, HR2 9HY, UK.
This is a full time, permanent post working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with the possibility to cover these hours flexibly by negotiation, whilst still meeting business needs.
Earley Engineering Limited are Alvis restoration specialists providing a full range of repair, maintenance, restoration, race and rally preparation services to an international client base. The role in the coachbuilding / bodyshop department involves the preparation and painting of vehicles.
This is a challenging, interesting and varied role where the successful candidate will join a specialist team restoring classic and vintage cars, using our newly installed paint booth and equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Carry out preparation / spray painting operations to the agreed method and of a very high standard using the spray booth
Carry out refinishing and assembly of vehicles
Carry out panel beating and fabrication tasks
Carry out regular safety checks, maintain and clean equipment including changing filters as required
Operate the spray booth to ensure the correct pressure and temperature is used within manufacturer’s guidance.
Make sure that all safety precautions are followed and notify management of any maintenance or safety requirements
Wear the correct PPE (supplied by the company) including gloves, eye protection and breathing apparatus when mixing and spraying
Dispose of all paint, lacquer, thinners and general waste correctly
Adhere to all company policies and health and safety regulations
Essential skills, competencies, behaviours and experience:
Fully trained and experienced bodywork technician skills (minimum 2 years professional experience)
Bodyshop refinishing and assembly experience (minimum 2 years professional experience)
Experience of preparation of vehicles for paint (minimum 2 years professional experience)
Experience of painting using spray booth (minimum 2 years professional experience)
Panel beating and fabrication skills (minimum 2 years experience)
Knowledge of relevant COSHH requirements
Able to work independently – managing own workload efficiently – and as an effective member of a small team
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Full driving license
be able to communicate politely and professionally with colleagues, customers, suppliers and visitors
Attention to detail, a desire to meet high standards of quality and a drive to deliver excellent results for our customers
Punctual and reliable
