Coachbuilding, Bodywork & Body Repairs
Ash framing
We keep our own large stock of seasoned ash allowing us to air dry batches for four years until suitable for use. Our fully equipped woodwork shop produces all the ash repair sections and full body frames where needed. Our craftsmen can create strengthened frames maintaining absolute originality allowing the style and line of the finished car to be indistinguishable from the original.
Coachbuilding
As with the ash frames, all coachwork is carried out in house. Our coachbuilding facilities are extensive, allowing us to carry out everything from small repair sections to complete new panels. We also manufacture wood veneer instrument panel sections in house.
All the structural repairs and coach building processes are completed in our fully equipped body shop following exact lines of originality. The combination of skilled craftsmanship, modern welding and body shop techniques – not to mention over 45 years of Alvis experience – produces some of the best pre- and post-war cars seen in the show and rally circles.
We can carry out all jobs, large and small, from panel repairs to panel and body fabrication. Our skilled craftsmen take care to produce the best. Many unique special bodied cars have passed through our workshops in recent years. Our skills are in great demand and we have cars in the workshops from Australia, the U.S.A. and many more from all over the UK and Europe. A true world-wide reputation.
Body Repairs
Our body shop can carry out all aspects of body repair from small scratches to wood frame repairs to a full re-paint. So if you have had an accident or the paintwork is beginning to look a little tired on your Alvis, we can restore the showroom look.
